Where is MP Asia Engineering registered?

MP Asia Engineering is a registered engineering company in Singapore since 2015.

How many branch does MP Asia have?

Our core business operations are conducted in Singapore. We have another branch for manufacturing and storage in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Do we liaise with Singapore or India office?

All liaising are done in the Singapore office. However existing customers for specific orders are handled directly by our Team in India.

Do you provide samples?

Yes, MP Asia Engineering provides pre-made FREE samples for customers that are keen to work with us.

Can we get custom free samples?

Yes, for first time customers we usually offer a FREE sample according to customers requirements.

Are all products done in-house?

Yes, mostly all our orders are done by us. For some special cases we tie up with our partners to deliver.

Can we claim SPM's under Singapore government grant?

Yes, we work with a pre-approved vendor to ensure our customers that buy SPM's from us are eligible for Singapore grants.

Do you provide services outside of Singapore?

Yes, we serve worldwide.

Customer Queries - EDM Service

What is the smallest wire cut hole?

Approximately 0.018” diameter, but under right conditions it can be smaller.

What wire sizes does MP Asia Engineering use?

We use wires that are between 0.004” diameter and 0.012” diameter.

What are the range of surface finishes?

Our finest wire cut finish is 10 micro inch and this level finishing depends on the material.

What type of files do you accept?

We work with many file types, Native file formats are always the best in any scenario. For Die works we prefer dxf or dwg format. For prototype or mold work we prefer IDG or Parasolid.

What CAD/CAM do you use?

Opticam, SolidWorks and CADKEY.

How many wirecut machines?

MP Asia Engineering has 8 machines while our partner floor have up to 80 machines.

Do you sell or manufacture wire manufacturing equipment?

No, however we buy used-machines from businesses only in Singapore.

Where is MP Asia Engineering's Wire EDM located?

We have our main branch in Singapore with a secondary branch in Tamil Nadu, India. However we have partners with floors in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Srilanka and Vietnam.

Do MP Asia Engineering do test cuts?

Upon request we do provide this service.

What certifications does MP Asia Enigneering have?

We are currently delivering project to our clients with our partners that are ISO-9001:2015 certified.

Does MP Asia Engineering offer NDA for tools design?

Yes, since type of work usually requires confidentiality, we are happy to comply with any necessary Non-Disclosure Agreements required by the customer

Do you manufacture the design as well?

From concept to design and manufacture, MP Asia Engineering is a one-stop shop for all your tooling requirements.

What sort of design work have you guys done?

What software's do you use to design?

Customer Queries - CNC Milling

We need material certificates for our components, can you supply them?

Yes, material certificates are supplied with every delivery as standard.

How long are your delivery lead times?

Our lead times range from 2 to 8 weeks, depending on the simplicity or complexity of your part. We will advise on the delivery timescale when we send your quotation

Are you able to design and product parts if we have just a sample?

Yes, We do reverse engineering. We can extract design and engineering information from most manufactured components.

What are your CNC milling capabilities?

For high quality machined components, tolerances of 10 microns are possible. Mid-range tolerances of +/- 0.05mm are usually achieved.

How will my parts be packaged?

We offer several different options for inside Singapore delivery, depending on the size and type of product. All our packaging is designed to provide effective protection against damage and ensure your orders are delivered in pristine condition.

What are your payment terms?

For new customers we ask for the first 3 orders to be paid by pro forma and then a credit account application is submitted for approval.

How do I get a quote?

What thread specification can you work with?

ISO metric threads (M3, M6, etc), BSPT, BSP, UNF

How much thickness does anodising add?

Type II is the standard variation of anodising and clear coatings typically have a thickness of 5-15 μm and coloured/dyed coatings 10-25 μm.

Type III anodising also known as 'hard anodising’ can have a thickness of 20-80 μm.

A good design guideline to follow is that 50% of the anodic coating is below the original surface and 50% is above. Therefore, a 12 μm coating would increase the part thickness by 6 μm.

Can you provide Optical Emission Spectrometry?

Yes, we can provide Optical Emission Spectrometry analysis as an additional service. We send photos of the material testing and the results of the chemical analysis. This does usually add a few days to the lead time and a small additional cost.

What is the maximum swing capacity of your CNC grinding machines?

Our wide range of CNC grinding capacity extends to a maximum swing of 350mm diameter x 1000mm long.

Why do you find a coolant so important for CNC grinding machines?

Grinding processes can produce a lot of heat and may alter the surface structure of a component. Coolants are essential to stop the workpiece from overheating; they also support tool life and machine condition.

Dependant on material, an oil or water-based coolant should be used. Dry grinding of different steels is possible, but is time-consuming.

Do you only offer CNC Grinding services in Singapore?

We now offer our CNC grinding services to businesses all over the world.

Why Grinding instead of Milling or Turning?

CNC grinding are great for projects where speed, surface finish, repeatability, and accuracy are priorities. It is also a choice when consumable costs of milling or turning are high.

We are looking for a CNC Machining vendor in Singapore; what kind of machining services do you offer?

We do the following services: EDM, Milling, Turning, Grinding, CNC Tooling design, Quality Control and parts assembly.

Can you provide finishing for my existing or custom parts?

Yes we can do powder coating, anodizing, heat treating, plating, abrasive blasting, metal brushing, tumbling and grinding needs.

Is your plant located in Singapore for assembly services?

Yes we do most of our assembly work in our plant in Singapore. However for projects with big quantity and requires quick turnaround, we engage our certified partners in Singapore to complete it.

Do you accept small quantity jobs?

We are geared toward production but we gladly accept small quantities. You may order one part or thousands. We do have a minimum dollar amount per order.

How fast can we get a quotation for CNC assembly services?

If you are able to provide the full details of the project then the quotation can be given on the same day.

How much is your minimum dollar amount per machining job?

We do have a $380.00 SGD minimum order

Depends on the complexity of parts, quantity, and customer requirements (expedite). Typically, 2 to 3-week turn around.
